Asset Based Community Development Facilitation Training

This practical, hands-on two-day event is designed to provide ABCD practitioners with skills, information and tools enabling them to facilitate programs and support others in ABCD perspectives and strategies including:

>  in-depth understanding of the philosophy and practice of Asset Based Community Development

>  facilitation and training approaches and skills related to Asset Based Community Development

>  shifting the development mindset from needs and deficiencies to assets and capacities

>  highlighting, mapping and connecting the diverse range of community assets

>  harnessing the connected assets to a hopeful future for the community

>  how agencies, government and communities can work together more effectively

>  strategies that work; circles, connections, mapping, mobilising, innovative grants, open space, world cafe, hosting and applicative enquiry

>  developing plans of action

>  in-depth understanding of ABCD tools and resources

TARGET AUDIENCE
This workshop is designed for practitioners and community members who have a general understanding and experience with Asset Based Community Development and who wish to support their staff or other community members in utilising ABCD concepts and processes.

Participants will have an opportunity to experiment and use a full range of ABCD facilitation processes.

There will be a blend of short presentations, practical skills exercises, and small group discussions.
